On September 23, Wildcare hosted an end-of-summer picnic at Samuel P. Taylor State Park in Marin County, CA for The Zeva Longley Scholarship for Nature Education recipients. The celebratory day was filled with family fun: a hike through the stately redwoods, lunch, nature-oriented games such as Loteria and time to explore and discover the beauty of the park.
Rainbow Sandals Foundation, in partnership with Wildcare, is providing access to outings and activities that connect children and families to the natural world in a meaningful and inclusive way.
This scholarship program continues the inspiring legacy of Zeva Longley, a passionate and renowned environmental educator, activist, and artist. It is designed to help under-represented children and families in the Canal District of San Rafael, CA overcome barriers to first-hand experiences in the outdoors in our region’s parks and open spaces.
