The San Clemente Friends of the Library (FOL) is a dedicated non-profit organization established in 1968, committed to enhancing the San Clemente Library's resources and programs. With a mission to stimulate public awareness and support for library facilities, FOL fosters communication between the library and the community. Since 1982, the organization has actively engaged in fundraising efforts, including the establishment of the FOL Bookstore in 1998, which serves as the primary source of funding for various projects.
FOL's initiatives include supporting the Summer Reading Program for children, purchasing books, magazines, computers, and other essential equipment, and hosting guest speakers and educational services. Through the generosity of local residents and businesses, along with grant support, FOL enriches the library experience for all community members. Volunteers play a crucial role in maintaining the bookstore and organizing events, ensuring that the library remains a vibrant hub for learning and engagement in San Clemente.
