Idaho BaseCamp gets kids outside to to develop the next generation of confident, empathetic, and kind leaders. Through the development of our core values, they build an "Inner BaseCamp" — their sense of personal responsibility, courage, confidence, and respect defining the internal compass that helps us navigate life.
It can be a challenging world out there, and young people often bear the brunt of societal pressures and shifts. At Idaho BaseCamp, they believe in the power of connection with self, others, and nature through intentional play, curiosity, exploration, and community. Their set of values remain consistent throughout the five distinct programs they currently offer to get kids outside.
The OHL program (Outdoor Hispanic Leadership) is a free after-school program for Wood River Middle School students in Hailey, Idaho. The program is designed to foster the personal growth of Hispanic youth and their communities by providing weekly adventures and an engaging curriculum. Spanish-speaking teachers and mentors impart outdoor and leadership skills while also helping students develop their academic skills and self-confidence.
