Rainbow® Sandals Foundation is proud to support Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary and their incredible mission to rescue and care for animals in need.
In 2003, Kathy Haley moved to Anza, California, to create a sanctuary for abused and neglected animals like donkeys, llamas, alpacas, and pigs. While volunteering with a dog rescue, she discovered a deep passion for animal welfare and began developing her own holistic approach to rescue work—caring for the mind, body, and spirit of each animal.
A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe, and together they founded Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary in 2011 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Though Lisa passed away in 2017, her legacy lives on through every life saved at the ranch.
Today, Hope Ranch focuses on rescuing dogs and other animals at risk of abuse, neglect, or euthanasia—and giving them a second chance at life. As of April 2025, the sanctuary has helped 302 dogs, including 89 adults and 213 puppies. In March alone, they celebrated 24 successful adoptions, bringing the total number of adoptions for the year to 92.
