A child’s future is shaped first and most powerfully at home. But for adolescent parents, still growing up themselves, providing stability, safety, and guidance can feel overwhelming and out of reach. Only half of teenage mothers earn a high school diploma, limiting their ability to secure employment and break cycles of poverty. Young fathers, many of whom grew up without a father themselves, often struggle to find their role, support their child, and build healthy families. Without intervention, the risks extend to their children, who are more likely to enter school behind, face health and behavioral challenges, and repeat the same cycle.
Fristers exists to change this trajectory. Rooted in faith and guided by compassion, Fristers walks alongside young families, helping them build the stability, confidence, and hope needed for a brighter future. By surrounding young mothers, fathers, and their children with consistent support, mentoring, education, and community, Fristers strengthens families at their foundation, where a child’s future begins. When young parents are equipped to succeed, their children are safer, healthier, and prepared to thrive. Through this two-generation approach, Fristers interrupts generational cycles of poverty and transforms vulnerability into stability, confidence, and hope.
