“Thank you for joining us for the Los Angeles Angels’ ALS awareness game against the New York Yankees. We were honored to recognize two Angels fans living with ALS, Shelly Kindred and Patrick England, with Angels-themed Permobil wheelchairs alongside Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the Permobil Foundation.
Shelly, a lifelong San Clemente advocate and co-founder of the San Clemente Journal, has spent decades celebrating her community as a devoted Angels fan. Diagnosed with ALS in January, she still inspires everyone around her with her warmth and humor.
Patrick, raised in Newport Beach, grew up loving surfing, art, and sports. With a master’s in English from CSU Fullerton, he’s spent over 30 years as a tutor. A caring husband, son, and brother, his creativity and humor remain undimmed by ALS.
Their stories are a reminder of the strength, resilience, and community that define the ALS journey.
A special thank you to our sponsors: Rainbow Sandals Foundation, Shionogi, and Maxim Healthcare.” – Live Like Lou Foundation
